Information you provide

If you email or otherwise contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and the contents of your message.

Website and security information

Our hosting and security provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, including IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and security events.

Location

If you choose “Use my location” in the retailer finder, your browser uses your coordinates on your device to sort nearby retailers. Grey Owl does not receive or store those coordinates. The map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap providers, which receive standard request information such as your IP address.

Social media

Instagram post images and captions shown on this website are cached and served by Grey Owl, so viewing them does not contact Meta. If you follow a link to Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, or another external service, that service’s privacy terms apply.

How we use information

We use personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

• respond to inquiries and provide requested services;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
• prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents;
• maintain appropriate business records; and
• meet legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations.

We do not currently use advertising analytics or marketing cookies on this website.

Online ordering and payments

Online ordering is not currently available. Before online ordering is enabled, we will update this policy to explain the order, delivery, and customer information involved.

Our planned checkout provider is Square. Square will process payment-card information under its own privacy terms. Grey Owl will receive the information needed to manage an order, such as customer contact details, purchased items, transaction status, and delivery or pickup information, but will not store full payment-card numbers.

When information is shared

We may share information with service providers that help us host and secure the website, provide business email, process future payments and orders, or deliver requested services. We limit sharing to the information reasonably needed for those purposes. Providers may process information in Canada or other countries where they operate.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction. We do not disclose personal information for unrelated purposes without consent unless permitted by law.

Retention and safeguards

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy and for applicable legal, tax, licensing, security, and recordkeeping requirements. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask about the personal information Grey Owl holds about you, request access or correction, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Some information may need to be retained to complete a requested service or meet legal obligations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website and services change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted before or when they take effect.
